FINAL GAME vs Norridge: Final score Norridge 4 Piglets 0
FINAL HUSTLE AWARD GOES TO MICHELLE. She played hurt the last two games and toughed it out.
She made an amazing catch off of a bunt, and caught a great game.
Wow what a game. Norridge was 12-0 going into this game. You ladies held the game to 0-0 until the 6th inning.
Their coach was getting mad, their players were getting mad. They didn't know what was happening. The team
from Des Plaines came and opened a can of Whoop-Butt for a while.
Katie pitched wonderfully. They looked like fools on some of those changeups. Michelle played hurt and did a
great job behind the plate. What a catch she made on a pop up bunt, fully laid out dive in the dirt. Beautiful.
Darian played a great first base. One play she looked like a ballerina jumping for the ball and tagging first base,
She caught everything that was thrown to her and fielded her position perfectly. Katilyn and Maria teamed up to
get everything that was hit their way at second base. Maria covered first nicely on a few plays and Katilyn got the
grounders hit to her like it was nothing. Krisitine played short like a champ. Megan and Nikki got to their
grounders and covered the bag on some forces at third like clock work.
This infield played awesome.
Now the outfield. Zoe stopped everything hit her way out in right and made perfect throws to hit her cuts. Carissa
played center with some zest making sure she backed up 2nd on all the throws and Kim C. hustled and backed
up all the throws made to left.
Katie had the Norridge batters fooled most of the game so most of the hit balls were to the right side of the field. I
can't say enough how impressive you girls were tonite on defense. Really really good.
Our batters faced a tough Norridge pitcher. They didn't go 12-0 by having a crappy pitcher.
Michelle had tow nice bunts and reached on one of them. Kristine went 2 for 3. Maria went 1 for 2. Katilyn went 1
for 2 with a smash double.
The real excitement came in the 7th inning. Norridge scored 4 runs in the bottom of the 6th to take a 4-0 lead.
Nikki led off with a ground out. Michelle laid down a perfect bunt to get on first. Carissa walked. Then Kristine hit
a hard single to load the bases. What more could you ask for. Top of the 7th, we are down 4-0 and the girls fight
back to load the bases.
But as this crazy game goes, we were unable to get any runs and the game ended. I feel like it was a huge
victory though. The girls beat our rival Des Plaines team the night before and then came out and played a great
Norridge team and fought them tooth and nail until the end.
It was a pleasure to coach you ladies these last 5-6 games. Thank you for the opportunity and best of luck with
your futures.

First Playoff game vs Des Plaines
HUSTLE AWARD GOES TO: The middle and bottom of the batting order. Kim C., Maria, Katilyn, Carissa,
Darian, Zoe, and Nikki. They got all the hits and scored all the runs for us this game.
Piglets win 6-2 and advance to semi-finals vs Norridge.
We pulled off a nice victory against our rival Des Plaines team. My highlight was running on the field arguing an
infield fly call that went against us. I still think I am right.
I think for the players, the fans, the coaches, and I know for me, this was the biggest win of the season. We had
lost to them twice and this was the game that really counted. This game would get the girls into the next round of
the playoffs.
Katie pitched a great game with 14 strikeouts and only 1 walk. Our defense was solid.
At the plate Michelle hat a hit. Kim C. went 2 for 3 and scored 2 runs. Maria went 2 for 3 and scored 2 runs.
Katilyn went 2 for 3 with a hard double that got us two extra insurance runs in the 7th inning. Cariisa went 3 for 3
and scored a run. Darian went 2 for 3. Zoe had a hit and Nikki hat a hit too.
I was smiling ear to ear for an hour after this game. Great game and great win girls.
Game 12 Highlights WON 8-6 vs Hiawatha 2
HUSTLE AWARD GOES TO MARIA. Covering first base well, asking about a delayed steal, she gets
most improved hustle for this game.
The Piglets are playing some good ball lately. Coming together as a team. Hustling and cheering. And they beat
the 2nd place team tonite.
Katie is getting deadly with her new change up. Some of those Hiawatha batters looked clueless up there. We
had to go into extra innings with this game, but the Piglets pulled it off nicely. The defensive play of the game was
a throw from Katilyn to Katie to Janie. Janie put the tag on the runner (about twice her size) and they stopped the
winning run from scoring.
At the plate. Michelle went 2 for 4 and scored twice. Janie went 4 for 4 with 2 doubles and scored twice. Kristine
went 2 for 4 and scored twice. Katie had a double. Maria had nice single. Katilyn went 2 for 4. Nikki had a double
and scored.
Megan played a good 3rd, Darian played a good game at first and Zoe, Carissa, Maria, Katilyn, Kristine, and
Nikki all teamed up to play nice outfield. Keep it up girls. This team is getting good.
Game 11 Highlights LOSS 3-2 vs Norridge
HUSTLE AWARD GOES TO THE WHOLE TEAM
This was the best win of the season for you girls. Forget about the score. This was a win for you as a team. You
were on your own to either sink or swim and you rose to the occasion. When the other team that's 10-0 says
"That was the best game we have had all season" How much more can you ask.
Megan pitched a great game. The defense behind her was solid Katie, Krissy, Maria, Katilyn, Michelle, Janie, Kim
C. Darian, Nikki, Carissa all played with hustle, enthusiasm and heart.
Michelle had a triple, Janie layed down a nice bunt, Kim C had 2 hits, Katie had a hit, Krissy had a triple, Megan
had a double that scored the tying run. And all the other girls were up there swinging like they meant it.
Thank you girls. It was sink or swim tonite and you shined like the sun.
I hope that team from last night never shows their face again after seeing how great you can play like tonight.
Game 10 Highlights LOSS 10-9 vs Des Plaines
HUSTLE AWARD GOES TO KIM C. She hustles out to her spot every time.
For the first time in 5 years I actually gave up as a coach. I know I'm not supposed to do that, but I did.
I saw a team on Saturday vs Northlake that I would crawl on broken glass to coach. Hustle, enthusiasm, the
works. That's what softball is all about. That's the team I know you girls can be.
Then today I saw 'nothing' . No cheering. No enthusiasm. No talking. No heart. Very little hustle. As a whole I saw
a team that did not care, and that is something I can't deal with very well. It's wasted talent. You girls are better
than that.
How can we have one team Saturday, and something completely different today.
It's not right. Your parents bust their butt to get to the games to cheer and root you guys on. Your friends come
to watch. The coaches give their time. The scorekeepers and others are there supporting you. The least you can
do it play hard for an hour. You girls let your fans down today , big time.
It's not about losing the game. It's about not caring.

Game 9 Highlights WIN 6-4 vs Northlake
HUSTLE AWARD GOES TO Katie. She pitched 7 solid innings and went 3 for 3.
This was a good game. The girls really came to play. The throwing was better, the hitting was better, overall this
was the first game all season where I thought you guys are starting to look like a team. Let's keep this going into
the playoffs. Katie pitched the whole game, the change up keep getting better and better. Janie and Michelle
switched off to catch on this hot Saturday morning.
At the plate Michelle went 1 for 1 with 2 walks. Maria went 1 for 3. Carissa walked twice and scored twice. Katie
went 3 for 3 and her 6th inning double drove in the winning runs. Kim C. continues to hit the ball well also going 3
for 3. Kristine went 1 for 2.
Game 8 Highlights LOSS 14-2 vs Norridge
Norridge is tough this year. Even though we lost 14-2 we played pretty well. EXCEPT for the throwing. There
were a lot of bad throws that led to extra bases and unnecessary runs.
Game 7 Highlights LOSS 9-7 vs Northlake
The girls played really tough. We only had 8 players so that meant only two outfielders. So Kim C hustled in left
center and Michelle and Janie shared right center. Northlake is a good team and we had the lead for most of the
game. Then they put together a good inning and we could not capitalize with our base runners. All in all a good
effort though with only 8 players.
Game 6 Highlights WIN 10-0 vs Hiawatha 1
HUSTLE AWARD GOES TO MICHELLE. She hustled at shortstop and slid hard into a really big girl who fell on
her at home.
The Piglets played really well today. It was rainy but they came out with great pitching, great defense, good
hitting and aggressive base running. Megan and Katie split the game pitching allowing no runs.
Defensively Maria had some nice plays at 2nd and a nice backup in left field. Kristine made a couple nice
catches in center field. Michelle had some nice plays from short. Janie did a nice job behind the plate.
The other team had a really big catcher and Michelle, Janie, Carissa, Maria and Katilyn all slid into her. She was
like a brick wall. Good hustle girls.
Batting Michelle went 3 for 4. Janie went 1 for 3. Megan hit a bomb that was caught and had a nice RBI. Katie
went 1 for 3. Carissa went 1 for 3 with a triple. Kim C. went 1 for 3 with a nice hit to center. Katilyn went 1 for 3.
Maria went 2 for 3 and was hit by a pitch. Darian went 1 for 2 with 2 walks. And Kristine back from vacation went
3 for 4. Good game girls.

Game 3 Highlights: WIN 16-5 vs. Forest Park
CARL'S HUSTLE AWARD GOES TO KIM C. Nice backups in the outfield and nice hitting.
Nice pitching from Megan and Katie kept the Forest Park team to only 5 runs. We have the girls moving around
and trying different positions so the defense is not super tight yet.
I like to see effort. Coming to practice is part of that. Getting to games early to warm up is also good effort. It was
VERY noticeable who made practice last week and who did not. Kim C. went 3 for 4. Katilyn went 2 for 4. Maria
went 2 for 4. Nikki went 1 for 2 with a walk. Victoria hit the ball hard just right at people. Katie Suerth had a nice
hit. Janie had a double. Guess what? These girls all had extra batting practice last week. The more you practice,
the better you get. Also on offense. Megan went 2 for 4. Michelle had a nice bunt and scored three runs. Carissa
walked twice and scored 2 runs and Kim M went 1 for 3 and scored a run.
All in all the girls played a nice game. Everyone contributed. Michelle and Janie did a great job behind the plate.
Darien played a nice center field. Carissa, Kim M, and Victoria all tried their hand at first. And it was Nikki's debut
at short stop. Keep up the good work girls.
Game 2 Highlights: LOSS 7-0 vs. Northlake
I will add more highlights later. CARL'S HUSTLE AWARD GOES TO DARIEN.
This is the important thing to learn from this game. Against a FAST pitcher you have to start your swing sooner
or you will strike out or hit the ball foul. There is just no other way around it.
The way we start our swing is with the NEGATIVE MOVE. Then as we land on toe touch we make the decision to
swing or not swing. The pitcher could throw 1,000 miles an hour, but if you start early enough you could still hit it.
Watch this video to see what I mean. So this is something we need to work on if we hope to beat Northlake in the
playoffs.
Game 1 Highlights: WIN 17-0 vs. Hiawatha
I am just getting going with the write ups and the website so bear with me please. You girls manhandled the team
from Hiawatha. Great pitching from Megan and Katie and solid defense squashed any rallies that the Hiawatha
team tried to put together.
I love hustle and effort. Janie hustled hard to beat out a ball hit to 1st base. Darian was hustling with her backups
in right field. Carissa caught a nice ball in center and Michelle made a nice play to get a girl out at 3rd from
center.
At the plate Michelle went 2-2 with 2 walks. Janie went 2-3. Darian went 1-3. Carissa went 2-3 with a nice Triple.
Katie went 1-1 with 2 walks. Maria went 1-2. Victoria went 1-1 with 2 walks. And Kim M. went 2-3. Just about
everybody scored at least one run. The funny highlight was when the Umpire split his pants and had to call his
wife to bring him a new pair. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.

Great way to finish the season girls. You ladies were a pure joy to coach and
