A Few Words From Carl Ostenson
I was in the securities business from 1993 to 2004. I left for a few
reasons. First, watching people lose a substantial portion of their money
right before they retired was very tough for me. Second, most people
weren't really making any money. Sure you had good years and bad
years, but the 12% that Wall Street preaches was nowhere to be found.
And lastly, I decided I only want to sell products that are safe and can
not lose money.
That led me to the insurance industry. I know, we all think that insurance
companies are greedy SOB's, but the bottom line is that they are also
among the safest places in the world to put your money.
So if you are looking to rock and roll and make 30% a year, then you will
not want anything we have to offer.
It's interesting though. Most people when they are getting ready to
retire, and they have a sum of money that they are relying on to provide
them with income for the rest of their life, they could care less about
30% returns.
They don't want all of their money in the Wall Street Roller Coaster
anymore. They lose sleep. Now they want safety, dependable income,
and a reasonable return. If you fall into that category then we should talk.
In 2005, I began offering life insurance. I like it. Now I am also dealing
with younger people, as well as retirees. We now do business with over
20 insurance companies, and can usually match or beat anything you
can find on the internet. In case you were wondering, all agents are not
like the guy from the movie "Groundhog Day."
So all that being said, how do you find out whether any of our programs
are right for you?
If you already know what you want, and are looking for a local agent to
sell it to you, then you are my favorite kind of client. We need to spend a
few minutes finding out if we have a mutually acceptable basis to do
business, and then if we do, I'll go to work for you.
